**Job summary**:
The Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration (DCLPA) delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding and Personnel Administration.

The College is made up of 3 schools; Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) predominantly based at Worthy Down; Defence School of Policing and Guarding (DSPG) in Southwick Park; and Defence School of Transport (DST) at Leconfield. The college headquarters is also based at Worthy Down - a newly built, modern campus in Hampshire.

The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants, ours is a diverse workforce with many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Amy.

This senior role sits within the Food Services Training Wing (FSTW), providing initial and continuation training for our military chefs. DSLA is seeking a Head of Culinary Delivery to ensure our chefs are prepared for their future chef responsibilities and that FSTW remains a Centre of Catering Excellence. As the Head of Culinary Delivery you are responsible for culinary course delivery and maximising and aligning excellence, standards and best practice across trainees and instructors.

The position is advertised at 37 hours per week, with a large proportion of the work being office based.

The Head of Culinary Delivery at DSLA offers an exciting opportunity to work in a military training environment.

You will drive the Culinary Course Delivery at DSLA - the Centre of Catering Excellence - by training and preparing chefs at all competency levels, and developing and providing direction to make sure we remain relevant in an ever-changing environment.

You will collaborate with senior managers aiding their decision-making through the provision of strategic and specialist oversight ensuring that our training and standards reflect - indeed exceed - that expected from the wider industry. You will lead on instructor and trainee standards and course assessments and work alongside the Futures Cell to drive continuous improvement.

We are seeking applicants who are forward-thinking, are dynamic, have initiative and are able to work proactively and creatively to achieve outcomes. Due to the variety of ranks of Service Personnel (SP) and grades of Civil Servants (CS), applicants will need to be effective communicators and confident to develop trusting working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

We can offer the successful applicant a fantastic opportunity to undertake an MOD funded Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management, allowing the job holder to gain a Level 3 or Level 5 qualification.

**Person specification**:
Successful applicants would be expected to have the following:

- Chef qualification Level 3 or the equivalent (i.e. 7062).
- Level 3 Food Safety.
- Assessors' qualification.

It is advantageous, though not essential, if applicants hold:

- Level 4 Food Safety.
- Level 4 Health and Safety.
- Teaching Qualification.
- Advanced qualification in culinary skills.
- First Aid at Work - training will be provided.

**Qualifications**:

- Level 3 Chef Qualification or equivalent.
- Level 3 Food Safety.
