**Job summary**:
The Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration (DCLPA) delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding and Personnel Administration.

The college is made up of 3 schools; Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) predominantly based at Worthy Down; Defence School of Policing and Guarding (DSPG) in Southwick Park; and Defence School of Transport (DST) at Leconfield. The college headquarters is also based at Worthy Down - a newly built, modern campus in Hampshire.

Defence School of Logistics and Administration is looking for a motivated and driven individual to join the Quartermasters (QM) Department in the role of Storekeeper.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week and attendance to the site is required.

**Job description**:
The Storekeeper position is an essential role within, Worthy Down Support Unit, responsible for the management and control of equipment and services, including catering consumables, life support items and consumables for Single Living Accommodation, uniform and miscellaneous items.

You will ensure that stock levels are maintained, and distributed to trainees and permanent staff as required. You will also be logging equipment levels on the relevant computer system.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for someone that has strong customer service skills along with basic digital literacy. They will demonstrate the ability to react quickly and positively to change and will understand the importance of following manual handling regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of the day to day running of the store.
- Issuing and receipting equipment to personnel.
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and serviceable.
- Maintaining documentation for stores accounting and auditing.
- Assisting the Duty Officer with daily and weekly checks.
- The delivery and maintenance of goods and services to meet the demand of the site.
- The delivery and maintenance of orthopaedic furniture.
- Maintenance of stock levels to meet demand.
- Action Receipts and Issues, returns and disposals, and ensure they are logged on the appropriate systems.
- Maintain the availability of Defence stores to scale including a variety including uniform and kit.
- Maintain opening hours to meet demand without hindrance to training.
- If qualified, carry out forklift duties and driving duties in direct support of the Quartermaster’s Department.

Full training will be provided on using our MOD systems for stock control and Inventory.

A Storekeeper role requires a degree of physical ability as you will be expected to lift and carry furniture, boxes of rations and equipment around the store (also load / offload vehicles), and place / retrieve items and boxes from shelving that may be above head height. In accordance with HSE guidance, the recommended maximum manual handling weight that applicants can expect to lift is men (25kg) and women (16kg).

As part of the role we can provide you with counter-balance forklift training and licence. This is not essential to carry out the role, but advantageous if you hold the licence.
