**About the role**:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Senior Administration Officer to provide crucial support to the Council’s Strategic Planning team. This busy team is instrumental in preparing the Local Plan and supporting the preparation of Neighbourhood Plans. Together these documents set the strategy and policies to manage development in Horsham District. This work also involves delivering a solution to ‘water neutrality’ which requires that new development does not increase demand for drinking water above existing rates. The Strategic Planning team also provides specialist landscape, heritage, ecological and aboricultural advice on a range of planning matters.

As the Senior Administration Officer you will be responsible for arranging and managing meetings from booking rooms, preparing agendas and taking and preparing minutes. As part of the Local Plan Examination you will be a key point of contact, liaising with the Programme Officer / Planning Inspectorate to ensure the smooth running of this crucial stage of Local Plan preparation. The role will also require the efficient running of a variety of inboxes, recording and monitoring the progress of consultation responses, reviewing and recording key processes and providing general technical advice related to the work of the team.

The Strategic Planning team has a hybrid working arrangement. After a successful probation period, the usual working pattern is 50% home and office based working. Home /office days are not set, as this will depend on the tasks and meetings programmed each week.

**About you**:
To succeed as the Senior Administration Officer, you will have a committed an interest in both the built and natural environment and be educated to A level, or an equivalent standard or experience. You will need to be able to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of audiences verbally and in writing. You will be an organised individual with excellent time management skills. You will be IT literate with an ability to learn specialist planning systems and packages.
