Are you interested in a new and exciting role working closely with adults with cancer? The Acute Oncology Service (AOS) in Cardiff and Vale UHB is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the team.

The Acute Oncology service at Cardiff and Vale UHB covers both UHW and UHL and ensures that cancer patients who develop an acute cancer-related or cancer treatment-related problem receive the care they need quickly and within the most appropriate setting. The AOS allied health professionals (AHP’s) are a new addition to the AOS team and the first of its kind in Wales within a tertiary hospital setting.

The AOS team are involved in the assessment of Acute Oncology (AO) patients throughout the hospital with the main focus on the timely access to expert advice, improved patient experience and aim of facilitating early discharge and admission avoidance. The AOS AHP’s also aim to enhance patients’ health, wellbeing and quality of life in order to maintain a patient’s independence and reduce deconditioning.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
