To provide an efficient and comprehensive administration support service for the IPC Service; performing all allocated administration tasks required to meet the needs of the service.

To work as part of the IPC Service supporting the IPC nurses, information analyst and wider IPC services colleagues.

To maintain a good working relationship between colleagues, internal and external agencies, and patients as appropriate, having good communication skills, a sympathetic manner and the ability to deal with sensitive information.

To provide a point of contact for enquiries using tact, diplomacy and confidentiality, and deal with, or escalate, each situation accordingly.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly over 7 days to meet the demands of the service
- The post holder will provide general administrative support to the team
- The post holder will contribute to the standardisation of administrative systems and processes within the Infection Prevention service.
- Undertake filing duties and inputting of data around the service needs
- Complete other general administration duties as required by the team such as faxing, management of notice boards, post, answering telephone calls and taking messages.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information relating to patients and staff gained through your employment within the organisation.
- Comply with Trust policies for personal and patient safety and for prevention of healthcare associated infection (HCAI); this includes a requirement for rigorous and consistent compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines in relation to all aspects of infection prevention.
