The Role

We are looking for a Clay Printer Operator to take charge of the operation and maintenance of our pool of clay 3D printers.

We are a growing fabrication company based in East London with a focus on digital fabrication.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join our team to run the clay 3d-printing workshop in one of London’s leading fabrication spaces.

This is a new full-time role, with the purpose of keeping clay printing production as efficient as possible and maintaining it in the best condition possible.

We’re looking for someone with a systematic and proactive approach, who is friendly and approachable and used to working in a team.

The Responsibilities
- Do all the necessary actions to operate the clay workshop, preparing materials, run the printers, handle the prints, and arrange the firing cycles;
- Keeping the clay workshop clean and tidy, with all the necessary tools organised and available;
- Work closely and communicate with the team to ensure a streamlined production;
- Provide status and production reports of the machines;
- Work closely with the workshop manager to create a safe working environment and make sure no essential tool, equipment, or materials are missing.

**General**:

- Preparing the material for the printers, obtaining the right density for each clay for printing;
- Post processing the printed objects, including cleaning, finishes, glazing, and firing;
- Communicating with the team to be sure all pieces for each project are scheduled in a efficient queue;
**Workshop Maintenance**:

- Assure all elements are in working conditions, like compressors, printers, pugmills, and kilns;
- Maintain an inventory of tools and equipment
- Compressor maintenance
- Ordering of consumables
- Replacement of equipment where necessary
- Make sure the lab is following all the Health and Safety procedures

- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail with a hands-on and proactive approach
- Experience with 3D printers
- Experience in using clay and the relative processes;

- Good interpersonal skills and experience with working in a team;
- Fast learner and passionate about fabrication;
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
