**Job summary**:
We are looking to recruit an outstanding Business Support Officer within our Health, Safety and Technical Training team based at our Cannock Training Centre which has the perk of blended working available. The post brings together a diverse set of services which in combination make up the centralised Health and Safety as well as Technical Training services for Forestry England.

You will be supporting a team to deliver smooth and effective administration service that supports all things health and safety and technical training whilst also supporting financial processing for our cost centres.

Forestry England is an agency of the Forestry Commission and manages the Nation’s forests and the Forestry Commission’s commercial activities in England.

The 254,000 hectare of the Nation’s Forests in England is the largest single landholding in the country. The estate comprises over 15,000 separate properties, including some of the finest woodlands, forest and open land in England, a wide range of housing and commercial property and a variety of recreation/leisure businesses. The properties are spread across 6 Forest Districts: North England, Yorkshire, Central England, West England, East England, South England, plus Westonbirt Arboretum and the National Office in Bristol.

There are approximately 1000 people working in a broad range of roles, delivering the diverse business functions covering the management of the estate and including sustainable forestry and land management, timber harvesting, property management and development, recreation and events management and management of 27 visitor centres. Forestry England has significant customer interaction with millions of visitors and engagement with customers across a range of activities.

**Job description**:
As the successful post holder, you will be supporting the HS&TT team in a range of administrative duties, including:

- Training Delivery - supporting the coordination and timely administration of training events, working with both internal trainers/ managers and external training suppliers.
- Management information reporting - providing data on training provision and H&S measurements where required.
- Customer Service - deal with customer enquiries, queries, cancellations and amendments to events.
- Financial administration - raising purchase orders, invoice processing and query handling.
- Supporting the end-to-end administration of meetings, including quarterly H&S committees and supplier contract review meetings.
- Supporting system administration, including managing access for new joiners and deactivating leavers.
- Supporting the management of the Cannock training and office facilities.
- Administrative support for the Forestry England apprenticeship programme.

**Person specification**:
Essential Experience:

- Providing a quality service within a busy function.
- Basic accounting skills and experience.
- Data handling and management reporting.

Desirable Experience:

- A good understanding of health and safety and/or training administration.
- Changing and improving processes.

Professional and Technical Expertise:
As a minimum,
- English & Maths GCSE Grade 5 or above/C or above or equivalent.
- SharePoint knowledge/ experience.

The location of this post is at our Training Centre at Birches Valley, Cannock with the opportunity to agree blended learning if desired.

As the post involves dealing with contacts across the UK, occasional travel with overnight stays away from home is requirement of the post.
