**Position Title**: Production Planner / Materials Planner

**Location**: Paneltex, North Cave, Brough (East Yorkshire)

**Hours of work**: 40 hours per week - Monday-Thursday 0800-1700 / Friday 0800-1430

**Salary**: £27,000 - £33,000

**Other Benefits**:Equivalent of 32 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), Contributory pension scheme & Life Assurance cover

**Job Overview**

This is a combined role to schedule and control supply of components / material to meet the production plan and ensure sufficient stock levels are in place to support forecasted demand. Working within the organisation to ensure as to ensure a smooth and cost-efficient manufacturing process.

The role will also have responsibility for sourcing raw material parts for production and inventory for sale.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Receive and work with customer forecasts to develop a supply plan to support customer needs.
- Assure supply of raw materials to support the production schedule.
- Inventory Management
- Develop production capacity plan with manufacturing team and identify any risk areas to the production plan
- Responsible for the movement of each production order through the manufacturing process liaising daily with the Production Team.
- Bills of Material Maintenance - ensuring accuracy and management of any change.
- Develop supplier relationships to allow constructive discussions for on-going supply and business improvements
- Report on Supplier performance and take corrective actions with the purchasing team
- Coordinate production workflow for our products
- Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Work with Customer Demand Portals to validate demand needs.
- Encourage, collect and implement improvement ideas in your area to reduce waste and make your colleagues jobs easier.
- Work professionally and effectively with supervisors and managers to meet overall Company goals.
- Make sure you understand all the work activities in your area. Maintain your skills matrix and undertake the training needed to fill any gaps.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Proven experience as a production planner in a manufacturing environment with working knowledge of the end-to-end manufacturing site supply chain processes
- Track record of materials planning
- Confidence to pick up the phone and speak with Suppliers to expedite orders as needed
- Experience in MRP and ideally experience in systems introduction
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
- Demonstrated progression as a Supply / Production Planner - enabling demonstrated improvement plans
- Solid analytical skills and an attention to detail in order to use data to drive change, share insights and provide well balanced recommendations which are fact based and data led
- The ability to communicate, influence and build strong working relationships cross functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills
