Our Lancaster Team, is part of the wider Pan Lancashire Sexual Health Team working for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

Our services we offer screening, contraception, Larc methods, Condoms, postal pack screening, mail order contraception, Blood Born virus specialist services and psychosexual services.

We offer a structured package of training and development with the opportunity to grow and develop in a wide range of skills

You will act as a chaperone during procedures and examinations. learn how to take bloods, clinical observations and microscopy for diagnostic testing. In the administration role you will staff reception and telephone enquiry line, you will be supported to develop.

you will have a supervision and safeguarding sessions and will be assigned a mentor to offer 1-1 support and meetings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration

Support the Senior Administrator with management system, Lilie.

Ordering of clinical and non-clinical stock

Staff telephone system

clerical support to senior sexual health colleagues.

contemporaneous records and adhere to the Trust record keeping policy.

To produce minutes from regular staff meetings

induction and training of new staff.

HCA duties

Chaperone during procedures and treatments

all information remains confidential

Prepare the clinical rooms and laboratory.

cleaning of equipment/ready to be used.

Prepare and stain slides and, following training, undertake microscopy

Undertake clinical observations.

Undertake venepuncture following Trust training.

Prepare samples

Adhere to policies and procedures of the Trust

annual appraisal review.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration

Utilise IT skills to produce work documents and collate statistical information as requested by senior colleagues.

Management of Sexual Health North postal pack scheme.

To support the Senior Administrator with the management of the confidential sexual health patient management system, Lilie.

Assist in the ordering of clinical and non-clinical stock, maintaining stock control, including the economical and correct use of materials. To be able to use the supplies ordering system.

To answer the telephone triage system and book appointments as appropriate and deal with any queries in a professional, empathetic, and understanding manner.

Arrange follow-up appointments for patients attending the clinic and answer patient queries.

To provide clerical support to senior sexual health colleagues.

Complete contemporaneous records and adhere to the Trust record keeping policy.

Participate in the preparation of reports / statistics and receipt of reports as requested by senior colleagues.

To produce minutes from regular staff meetings as requested.

Undertake reception duties, meeting and greet clients in a welcoming and friendly manner.

Take part in the development and trials of new ideas and methods within the service.

Assist in the induction and training of new staff.

Ordering and maintenance of stock both clinical and non-clinical to ensure the smooth running of sexual health clinics.

To undertake such duties as may be required from time to time which are consistent with the responsibilities of the band 3.

HCA duties

To support / chaperone senior colleagues during contraceptive procedures and the screening / treatment of patients for sexually transmitted infections (STI’s).
