This is an exciting opportunity to join the Estates and Facilities team at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an experienced Estates Officer to support a small in house Estates & Facilities team, you will be expected to work from Great Western Hospital as well as having the ability to work from home.

You will be a car driver, able to travel to community healthcare premises/offices as required to support operational requirements, sometimes at short notice, able to respond effectively and in a logical and controlled manner to unplanned events.

It is essential you can communicate effectively to different audiences and be confident attending committees or specialist groups where you may face challenging conversations, but always able to maintain a professional attitude whilst following trust's values.

You will be expected to work on a number of operational and capital/backlog projects at the same time and have the confidence to work within the team, and independently.

To ensure completed installations of plant/equipment is witnessed, tested and commissioned in compliance with appropriate specifications and standards, with appropriate certification, records and drawings, for delegated activity.

To assist Estates, THC and FM Co. with operational incidents as they occur, attending site management or other ad-hoc meetings as required.

To lead on operational engineering & building services matters including associated risk management, escalating to EFM senior management as appropriate.

To identify appropriate contractors/suppliers with Procurement support and in line with Trust standing financial instructions (SFI) and standing orders (SO) obtaining competitive quotes, and managing tender processes and appointments as required.

Ensure that all projects have the appropriate level of sign off before work orders are placed and ensure that clients are informed of any increase in costs over the allocated budget. Ensure final accounts are not settled until all work has been completed, inspected, and approved
