**£12.00/hour, part time**

Office Bods are working with a new social enterprise children’s home provider based in the Wirral, Merseyside to find Bank Childrens Residential Support Workers who will be able to build supportive relationships with children within their first home, now open.

As a Bank Childrens Residential Support Worker you will be nurturing and caring, honest and reliable and build relationships with young people on an individual and group basis. You will support when cover is needed in the home, such as annual leave, training, and sickness.

Shifts are available immediately and the hours are flexible, allowing you to pick up shifts that suit you.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to cover shifts at short notice and we do ask that you do a minimum of three shifts a month so that you can build meaningful relationships with children in our care, and the wider team.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Ensure that all children and young people receive excellent care and are supported to reach targets and achieve the best outcomes.
- Be responsible for safeguarding children and young people, striving to meet all their needs.
- Maintain accurate records, in line with our policies and adhere to the requirements of Ofsted.
- Help provide a warm, comfortable home by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Work with the wider system of professionals for each child, and with children's families and communities of origin to sustain links and understand past problems.

**Essential**
- At least 1 year of experience working in residential care
- An understanding of the risks and issues facing children in care
- An understanding of how to keep children safe and protect them from abuse, neglect, exploitation or other types of harm
- Full, clean driving licence
- Great communication skills and ability to collaborate
- You’ll need to be comfortable with unpredictable situations and be flexible
- Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance
- Literacy and numeracy skills to be able to maintain accurate records, manage petty cash, write reports and achieve qualifications

**Job Terms**
- No fixed hours
- Flexible working required
- Early, late and waking night shifts to cover holidays, sickness, training etc.
- A minimum of three 9h shifts per month required

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
