Corporate and Institutional Coverage (CIC) is an origination and coverage business operating across the UK and North America focused on serving the needs of Mid and Large Cap clients. The business leads with a sector and relationship focus, whilst maintaining UK regional delivery through hubs in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join our Specialist Finance team. This role will be primarily focused on the coverage segment of Financial Services, a fast paced and deal orientated segment of the bank - which is at the forefront of Lloyds’ new growth strategy.

You'll support the team growing the client set, helping to deepen existing relationships and generally supporting the development of our franchise in the Specialist Finance sector. In addition to supporting the MD & RD on the set, you'll also receive the opportunity to manage certain clients from the beginning, providing an opportunity to own and build relationships.

Our team manages relationships across the 4 key specialist lenders segments - Specialist Mortgage Lenders, Specialist SME Lenders, Specialist Consumer Lenders and Debt Purchasers. All 4 client segments play a differing, important and vital role in our strategy of Helping Britain Prosper.

Additionally, you'll also be part of the wider Global Banks, Specialist Finance & Group Subsidiaries team, therefore there will be requirement at times to support on others segments, providing a broader opportunity to develop skills.

Given the varied nature of clients across the portfolio, you'll need to be a motivated self-starter with the desire to quickly understand your new role and clients. Whilst also working collaboratively with product partners and credit, to help implement a strategic plan to achieve objectives across the client base.

Essential skills/knowledge:
Regulatory - awareness/understanding of the regulatory framework/requirements within which the business operates (PRA, FCA and wider regulatory framework including EU and international, as well as Legal framework)

Market Knowledge - awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the business operates, along with additional factors / developments that impact our clients

Product Knowledge - Understanding of the key product suite that Lloyds can offer both from Lloyds Bank and Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. Useful to have experience of Financial & Capital Markets (particularly Securitisation), Transaction Banking and Lending products

Risk Management & Control - the ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks.
