As an Information Assurance Officer, you will play a critical role managing Information Sharing, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Data Incidents across both organisations, sharing best practice and aligning processes. **The role**

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Information Assurance Officer to join our dynamic joint team and contribute to compliance with best practice Records Management and Data Protection requirements. As an Information Assurance Officer you will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of assurance processes across both forces and where necessary providing relevant training, communications and advice.

**Responsibilities**
- Data Incident Management - recording and managing data incidents across both forces; sharing best practice; advising on compliance, monitoring effectiveness of recommendations and working with business areas to reduce further occurrences; assessing the severity of incidents and ensuring reporting within statutory timescales; undertaking proactive communications and awareness across the force using metrics; completing deep dives into areas of concern.
- Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) - embedding DPIAs into existing force processes; engaging with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate information is captured to allow comprehensive assessment of privacy risks; tracking and recording of all DPIAs carried out; advising on compliance and data protection requirements.
- Information Sharing - advising all areas of both forces on information sharing with all kinds of external organisations; ensuring that there is a lawful basis for the sharing of information for a particular purpose; identifying the correct type of agreement is in place and that the provisions reflect statutory requirements accordingly; working with the Welsh Accord for the Sharing of Personal Information (WASPI); advising Procurement on requirements for contracts with suppliers involving the processing of police information; liaising with internal and external stakeholders to understand what agreements and clauses are needed; drafting agreements and written instructions for processors,
- Advising on Data Protection and Management of Police Information requirements regarding the processing of police information.
- Reporting to senior managers on the areas set out above.
- Problem solving and analysis of information.
- Application of statutory requirements.
