Transport Controller

We are looking for an experienced energetic Transport Controller to join our fast paced friendly family business, operating across the UK from our base in Norton Canes, Cannock.
We are a well-established business operating from our location for the last 15 years, offering specialised waste management collection services across the UK with an exciting growing client base.
The role will have responsibility for a growing mixed fleet of HGV’s (approx. 3) and 3.5t vans (approx. 10) who collect various waste streams across the UK via both scheduled and ad-hoc services.
Reporting to the Operations Director, whilst working closely with the day to day Customer service team on managing all routes for all work coming in from clients by the hour.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The day to day tasks will include responsibility and control of all drivers, daily routing of all work, booking in hazardous and non-hazardous waste collections and ensuring we deliver a UK wide, best in class service.
Overseeing all vehicle performance and ensuring all the drivers paperwork and digital documents are accurate in real time.
Planning, routing and maintenance of all vehicles.
Experience of busy ever changing transport office / logistics essential, FORS and waste experience desirable but not essential, strong communication skills, attention to detail, can-do attitude, team player and good IT skills.
Experience of transport compliance and vehicle maintenance with a Knowledge of ADR desirable but additional training provided, with good communication skills required.
Operation of our digital dynamic real time IT operating platform, to complete and distribute all driver worksheets for the following working day, ensuring this is compliant and accurate with all technical information provided
Ensure all drivers complete daily defect reports, and these are actioned in a timely fashion with priority given to safety critical faults
Booking material into third party disposal outlets, ensuring the relevant booking forms are completed accurately and requesting POs for all loads
Booking subcontract haulage where required
Data management and administration of out IT platform is imperative.
Any other reasonable duties requested by senior management.

Schedule: Monday to Friday based in our HO base, Norton Canes, Cannock but flexibility required working in a small team.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
