**Purpose of the Role**

Coordinate and deliver the Society's charitable activities. Working with farmers, educators, and other organisations to provide the best possible support for the farming industry. The primary focus of this role is the coordination of the primary education provision, including Springtime Live, Countryside Days and the Discovery Zone at GYS. However, the team promote a 'one team' culture therefore it is essential to support the work of the Society's other networks and education programmes in spirit and, where necessary, hands-on.

**Responsibilities**

**General**

Develop, deliver, and promote projects and events, as part of the charitable remit of the Society.

Generate project plans and project manage the operational delivery of events.

Manage budgets and project timelines and report to Management.

Develop the Society's charitable activities by building relationships with educational settings, farmers, high-level industry stakeholders (e.g NFU/CLA) and public sector organisations.

Represent the Society and our Networks at meetings, events, and conferences.

Generate new ideas to enhance the charitable activities of the Society.

Identify and obtain funding and sponsorship for events and projects.

Work with the Marketing and PR teams to promote events and activities.

Any other responsibilities as set by Management.

**Education**

Develop and promote opportunities for primary schools at the Great Yorkshire Show.

Manage primary school bookings for the Great Yorkshire Show.

Manage the delivery of primary school specific events.

Work with the secondary and further Education Coordinator to ensure a well-rounded calendar of educational events.

Support the delivery of secondary education events where necessary.

Represent the society at key education events.

**Experience & Qualifications**

Essential:
A real passion and knowledge of farming and the countryside.

Experience of event planning and delivery

Experience of successfully delivering projects.

Experience of obtaining funding for charitable activities.

Experience arranging training for adults.

Familiarity with the issues and policies impacting upon British agriculture.

Familiarity with educational settings and the National Curriculum.

Desirable:
Experience in engaging with industry stakeholders.

Your own farming network.

Degree level education.

**Personal Skills**

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experienced in the use of the Microsoft Office Software Suite.

Experienced in the use of common Social Media platforms.

Polite and approachable.

Focus, thoroughness, and keen attention to detail.

Good level of written skills and ability to produce reports.

Has a 'can do/will do' attitude.

Excellent planning & organisational skills.

Analysis of own performance and takes steps to improve this.

Remains focused when faced with competing demands.
