**What we are looking for in a team member**:

- We don’t just want dog lovers - We want people who like dogs and other animals and want to train them to be the best they can be. To help them become confident, well behaved and well mannered members of the canine community.
- We don’t just want people who think this job will be good for them - we want people who really want to start or continue a career in dog care and training. We know dogs are great comforts, but this can sometimes be a stressful job and whilst it almost certainly will be good for you we need you to hit the ground running and be ready to learn and implement our training and high standards.
- We don’t want those who think it’s playing with dogs and stroking puppies - If you think this is what the job entails you’ve not reviewed our website. We want confident people who know how to work hard, multi task and understand how this could be the best job in the world, but not the easiest.

**Cover Letter Required**:

- Why you want this role and why you think you’re suitable.
- Any restrictions on your availability to work
- If you have applied for a role with us before, let us know why we should reconsider on this occasion?

**Experience/Qualifications**:
Qualifications relating to animal care are preferred, however if you don’t have experience/qualifications working with dogs that’s ok. So long as you have experience of working hard, multi tasking and learning new skills quickly.

Quick note. Whilst beneficial, having dogs in your family doesn’t qualify as working with them or of experience of working hard etc.

**About Us**:
We are a small family run business and are looking for a committed male or female staff member who understands the importance of making a good first impression and what it means to be part of a small team and small business.

If you’re interested in this role you should read our website and check out our social media so you know what a day at OPW is about. We are not a kennels and our team care for 40-50 free roaming dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities.

- To work with dogs. There are not many business of our kind in the UK at the moment, and those that work with us tell us they love it.

**Other things to take into consideration**:

- Want a job for the summer holidays?_ You’re not the only one. We’re looking for someone hoping to be with us at least a year or ideally more.
- Career Progression?_ We are a small business so career progression is not as widely available as larger corporate roles but as we expand so do our positions of responsibility. There are opportunities to specialise in certain training or behaviour areas once your probation is completed.
