The Editorial Assistant will provide day to day support to the Editors, by completing pre-determined tasks that are required for the regular maintenance of B2B content for the print, digital and social media portfolio produced by Step Communications.

Core duties will include:

- Liaising with the editors within the Step Communications portfolio, to ensure each of the magazines and their associated digital platforms are allocated editorial support and attention.
- Sourcing and sub-editing relevant news items and images, according to house-style, for the various magazine websites and digital newsletters.
- Sharing of topical news and features via social media outlets, including LinkedIn and Twitter.
- Helping to increase traffic to the magazine’s websites.
- Helping to build and grow the audience for Step Communications’ various social media platforms, through engagement activities, including connecting with individuals and organisations, to increase followers.
- Ensuring the e-newsletters have sufficient, engaging news content and are distributed to readers according to the required weekly deadlines.
- Proof-reading to ensure accuracy, observance of house-style, grammar and legal requirements (i.e. libel/copyright).

Additional duties, as and when required:

- Supporting and representing the journals by attending/ reporting on conferences for the various magazines. This may include writing of conference news and feature-length reports, as directed by the editors, observing relevant production deadlines.
- Interviewing for the purposes of obtaining quotes for news and features, as directed by the editors.
- Assisting the editors with proof-reading, writing and production tasks, as and when required.

**Salary**: £20,999.83-£29,329.67 per year
