Axcis are proud to be working with a Special Academy located in Lichfield for children and young people with physical disabilities and complex medical needs aged between 2 and 19 years. They are looking for a teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time basis to help support key stage 4 classes with various additional needs.

What you need to apply:

- Valid enhanced DBS - or be willing to obtain one
- Minimum of 2 references from last 12 months
- Experiences dealing with special educational needs
- Experience in Makaton or PECs would be advantageous

**Job Description**:

- You will be able to work as part of a class-based team with the possibility of providing one to one support to an individual pupil with additional needs which could be e.g. a visual impairment, complex medical and sensory needs or behavioural support needs.
- Prepare, maintain, and use varied resources to meet the lesson plans and assist learners in their use
- Establish de-escalation routines in line with policies of the academy
- Act as a positive mentor, providing advice to help pupils progress academically and socially
- Provide feedback to learners in relation to their progress and achievement

Pay:

- From £87.04 to £97.04 per day - can vary depending on experience

Hours:

- Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm

This position is initially temporary however there is a chance for it to be extended depending on performance.
