- Job description 1**Typist**

**Leamington Justice Centre**

**Permanent**

**Full Time**

**_ Salary £23,121 - £24,462_**

**The closing date for this post is 12 noon on 18th December 2023**

**Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration.**

The main purpose of the role is to provide general typing and associated administrative support.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Provide a word processing, general typing and tape transcription service.

Create electronic and paper files and maintain their storage and prepare for long term storage.

Undertake general administrative duties such as photocopying and post-delivery/collection.

Prepare papers for meetings/briefings.

Deal with phone calls and routine correspondence.

Deal with confidential matters appropriately and sensitively.

Book rooms for meetings ensuring all equipment/resources is identified and requested.

Take ‘action notes’ as described by the meeting Chair.

Meet and greet visitors as required.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

**Knowledge**:
Educated to GCSE standard (5 A - C including English Language and Maths)

RSA II typing (50 wpm), or equivalent.

Competent in the use of IT, including Microsoft packages or similar.

**Experience**:
Working in a busy demanding office environment.

Secretarial type work, word processing and audio typing.

**Key Skills**:
Good audio typing skills.

Able to summarise information accurately, ensuring inclusion of all salient points.

Builds effective working relationships and operate as part of a wider team.

Excellent and effective interpersonal skills.

Operates calmly and professionally when under pressure.

Operates with sensitivity and tact and to resolve conflict wisely.

A proactive ‘can do’ approach in managing situations and people effectively.

Able to work on own initiative.
