**_JOB PURPOSE**:_
- **_**Sole Technical Author with Didsbury Engineering required to produce, maintain and update technical publications including operation and maintenance manuals using data gathered from a wide range of sources internal and external to the business.
**_PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:_**
- Create and edit operating instructions, maintenance procedures and schedules, illustrated parts data, spares lists and marketing leaflets
- Generate high quality illustrations from existing 3D CAD data
- Create and edit other illustrations and diagrams
- Proof read documents prior to publication to ensure they meet business expectations
- Collate and verify information about a product from multiple sources
- Use a document management system to control revision levels
**_ESSENTIAL PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:_**
- Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline or can demonstrate equivalent experience
- Has technical writing experience within an engineering discipline, with the ability to communicate complex and technical information clearly and concisely
- Has an excellent standard of written and verbal English
- Working knowledge of ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English
- High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload based on changing demands
- Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Creative Cloud and SolidWorks Composer (or similar)
- Ability to motivate self and work alone or as part of a team
**_DESIRABLE SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:_**
- Working knowledge of ASD S2000M
- Previous experience working in a SME
- Working with Multi-language translation service providers
