**Responsibilities**:

- Provide in-depth knowledge and experience in AMHE technologies
- Demonstrate strong Mechanical & Electrical capabilities
- Be a competent 1st response engineer to on-site situations.
- Assist with commissioning of new installations working alongside our project & commissioning engineers
- Provide technical support to MHS/Fortna & our clients.
- Produce and deliver training to engineers in AMHE systems
- Support sites with maintenance and repairs when needed
- Produce Safety and technical documentation
- Provide advice, support and training to Clients
- Conduct technical audits to identify training and technical gaps within teams; create and agree on a plan to fill those gaps in association with their resource manager
- Collaborate with partners and suppliers in developing technology innovations
- Develop and implement engineering solutions in-house and with suppliers to improve equipment performance
- Keep abreast of current and developing automated material handling equipment trends
- Undertake special projects as required
- Contribute to the development of the continuous improvement program and lead activities where appropriate
- Undertake continuous training and development
- Look for opportunities that can add value for Fortna and our Clients
- Support customer meetings as required
- Be operationally minded with all decisions
- Comply with health and safety legislation at all times

**Qualifications**:

- Exceptional technical & experienced hands-on ability relating to automation and controls
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering
- Experience of working with automated material handling systems
- Experience of working at height
- A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a time-critical environment
- Proven competence in H&S
- PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrable understanding of the principles of excellent customer service
- Clean driving license.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with limited direction
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively with a team and support high levels of performance
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally, including prolonged periods at customer sites as required

Desired qualifications:

- Experience of PLC (Siemens and/or Beckhoff), Profibus/asi communications
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
- Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Working knowledge of PUWER and LOLER
