This is an exciting time to join us in Cancer Services at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. In cancer services it is vital you are compassionate, committed to high quality care with skills and abilities to contribute to generating and delivering the latest in evidence-based practice.

We are looking for a highly motivated health care assistant to become a Cancer Care Support Worker offering care and support to cancer patients attending Buckinghamshire NHS Trust. The post is fixed term for 23 months and will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital requiring cross site working to both Wycombe and Amersham hospital on occasions. The role will directly contribute to the delivery of holistic needs assessments (HNA) which our specialist nursing teams are required to provide around diagnosis and again on the completion of treatment.

The post will also be expected to support the clinical nurse specialist (CNS) teams in delivering high quality care to cancer patients so good communication skills are vital as are strong IT skills and an ability to work under pressure. The role will be patient facing but also require efficient clinical administration skills although a key focus will be increasing HNA activity within the CNS team in which the post is based.

This post would suit an experienced HCA or someone who is an assistant practitioner and/or someone who is capable of working independently as well as part of a busy clinical team.
