Housing Crisis Worker

With the housing crisis case worker, we provide short term advice and support to people with facing mental health challenges, who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. The role is Mon-Fri 9-5pm, with the Redhouse as an office base but can work from home too. We support people who are in temp accommodation, people who have been issued with a notice for possession of their home or facing eviction. We have supported people who are sofa surfing or street homeless. So the case worker needs to be able to have good knowledge of homelessness legislation, experience of support people to present homeless, dealing with benefits/debts, liasing with landlords etc. Some people we support their housing is having a serious impact on their mental health and it has become a crisis.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Merthyr Tydfil: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
