Logistics Team Leader

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader role for one of our Clients in Basigstoke to support our their logistics team with the processes and driving continuous improvement across the team. The role ensures that the production planning and scheduling is carried out efficiently. Ownership and technical expertise is key to success in this role.

This is a full time role of 38 hours per week with 6 months assignment via Adecco and located at the Client's site.

Working days: Monday to Friday. The hourly pay rate is £16.00

**Key Responsibilities**
- Generate the production schedule and plan on a weekly basis, updating daily to maximise customer service within agreed inventory levels
- Assess changes in demand and production to ensure the customer needs are met
- Understand the impact of schedule/plan changes on the logistics team
- Minimise operational difficulties such as stock outs, production stops, too much stock etc. by preventative measures, evaluating errors and developing/recommending and implementing remedial actions
- Run the daily Logistics JTM
- Lead the Hold Admin team
- Provide cover for other logistics team roles as required

Logistics Lead:

- Maintain and drive improvement in the planning system; managing conflicts to resolve issues
- Work collaboratively with all team members to drive process improvements within Logistics
- Provide expertise to the team on scheduling, planning, MRP, export and stock control process
- Analyse process failures and implement new solutions to prevent reoccurrence
- Support new systems and processes within the team
- Point of escalation; liaising with other functions in the business as required such as demand planning, procurement, production and quality
- Collaborate with key partners (e.g procurement) to ensure the supply chain meets the customer needs
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve supply chain issues; including running the monthly supplier review
- Work as part of the project team to launch and delist SKUs and materials; ensuring any write off is kept to a minimum

**Context and Scope**

The position holder drives improvement within the Logistics team by being an expert in the business processes. They set the production schedules using Microsoft Office, SAP and Preactor, adjusting plans as required to meet the customer needs. The position holder prioritises process improvements to get the best result for the customer and the team. The role holder communicates with other functions in the business to resolve issues and drive improvement within the supply chain. They are the key link between the logistics team and the rest of the business.

**Job Specifications/Qualifications**
- Strong analytically skills

**Knowledge/Experience**
- Demonstrable experience of scheduling, preferably in the FMCG industry
- Strong understanding of MRP and stock control processes; including SAP knowledge
- Experience of analysing and interpreting large data sets; using Excel and other system tools
- Ability to present data analysis to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated to manage processes and drive improvement
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- High self motivation
- Proven attention to detail. Must be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
