Ibk are currently supporting a 18 year old female to find a Personal Assistant to enable her to learn new life skills and to grow in confidence.
This young lady is autistic and has Mental Health challenges, but above all she is a kind and thoughtful individual who loves animals and has a cracking sense of humour She is also extremely creative and enjoys woodwork, which she takes part in on a weekly basis. Listening to music and watching live bands is also a huge part of her life
The role may include getting to know this young person at home, or in the community and on walks. To begin with the role will also include supporting this young adult on public transport to a new course that she is due to start. The family require someone with self confidence and a naturally encouraging, bubbly and positive personality who can support this young person to manage her anxiety and slowly build a trusting relationship with her.
**Rate**:£12 per hour
**Job type**:Part-time
**Location**:S7 as a start and end point
**Hours: 8 hours per week per PA (2 PA's are required in total)**
Ideally hours will be in 4 hours blocks either in the morning and evening. Lots of flexibility for the right person

**Key tasks**:
- To always act as her enabler, encouraging and motivating her at the right pace.
- To support her to improve her confidence and self-esteem by giving consistent support, showing empathy and positivity.
- To enable her to build a trusting relationship with her PA so that she can enjoy the activity of choice and feel comfortable in what is uncomfortable for her.
- To have patience when getting to know this person well and how best to support her, working alongside her family.
- To support her to organise and plan her medication to give her greater independence.
- To support her to care for her new puppy and adorable cat
**Personal Specification**
**Essential**
- Experience of working with Autistic children/young adults with Mental Health conditions
- Be confident and able to act as a positive role model
- Be engaging, reliable, honest, and able to maintain confidentiality
- To have patience, resilience and a good sense of humour
**Desirable**
- You may have interests, hobbies and skills you could share, such as animals, creative arts, woodwork or volunteering
