Hsqe Coordinator/trainee Advisor

Responsible to the HSQE Director and working within the HSQE team the HSQE Co-ordinator / Trainee Advisor will support the HSQE department and wider Collard Group with administration and coordination while following a structured progression towards becoming a qualified HSQE Advisor supporting the health, safety, quality and environmental targets and objectives of the Collard Group.
**Key Responsibilities**
**HSQE Coordinator**
- Supporting the development, collation and dissemination of HS&E information from and to operational sites.
- Collating statistical data and assisting with the production of reports in a timely manner.
- Administration of the Business Management System and document control.
- Assisting the HSQE department with support for tenders, supply chain evaluations, external audits and pre-qualification process.
- As confidence and experience develops the coordinator will support the development and implementation of both proactive and reactive strategies, campaigns and initiatives involving regular interaction with our operational site teams and line management.
**Trainee HSQE Advisor**
The successful post holder will have the opportunity to follow a structured progression and development towards a role as a qualified HSQE Advisor within the Collard Group.
- Development of health, safety and environmental management knowledge through hands on experiences and further qualifications.
- Exposure to site activities and controls within the recycling, waste, aggregate, demolition and contracting functions.
- Opportunity to understanding the differing business risks, opportunities and challenges.
- Gain accredited training and qualifications such as IOSH and NEBOSH.
- As confidence, experience and capability develops
- Assisting with the review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS),
- Assisting with the development of Construction Phase Plans (CPP)
- Supporting sub-contractor and supply chain evaluation.
- Supporting site inspections, incident investigations and the implementation of programmes to reduce incidents whilst promoting continual improvement.
- Working as a team player and covering tasks for colleagues in periods of absence.
**Person Specification**
**Skills / Competencies**
- A driven and motivated individual who is looking to take their first steps into Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Good Computer Skills - ideally with experience of using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Capable of effectively multi-tasking.
- Must be a team player with good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Experience in an administrative or site based role (desirable but not essential)
- Experience of the construction or waste industry (desirable but not essential).
- Full UK Driving License
