The Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) Advisor (D&C) will be responsible to the HSQE Director and report to the HSQE Manager providing support and compliance assurance to the Demolition and Contracting business.

The role will predominantly be site based centred from our Eversley (Hampshire) office covering projects predominantly in the south of UK but may require UK wide travel.

**Key Responsibilities**

Note: The job responsibilities may vary from time to time. As a consequence the job responsibilities will include but may not be limited to any or all of the following:

- Responsible to the HSQE Director and working within the HSQE team the HSQE Advisor (D&C) will report to the HSQE Manager within the Demolition & Contracting Business supporting operational teams and management to deliver the health, safety, quality and environmental targets and objectives of the Collard Group.
- This role will include supporting the development and implementation of both proactive and reactive strategies, conducting site inspections, incident investigations and the implementation of programmes to reduce incidents at site and office whilst promoting continual improvement.
- It will involve regular interaction with our operational site teams, supply chain and both on & off site staff to develop safe and healthy working relationships, whilst advising and supporting operational teams on Project-specific health, safety, quality and environment issues.
- Actively identify areas for improvement and contribute to plans aimed at reducing the occurrence of incidents.
- Provision of proactive support and coaching to operational site teams.
- Ensure that site teams are proactive, up to date and comply with current health, safety and environmental legislation, best practice and Company standards.
- Although primarily focused on construction and demolition activities the individual will be required to provide support to Group activities including recycling, waste, aggregate and support functions as required.
- Undertake audits and inspections, record findings, advise site and line management as appropriate and conduct follow up assurance ensuring non conformities or actions have been completed within designated timescales.
- Supports, tenders and pre-qualification process of sub-contractors.
- Provides technical and specialist HSQE support to line and site management
- Monitors Site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system.
- Assists in development and implementation of strategies, campaigns and improvement plans.
- Reviews project Construction phase plans (CPP), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Attends and supports pre start, risk assessment, start-up, site and client meetings as required.
- Reviews Site Procedures and practices as required and report to the management team as appropriate.
- Conduct incident investigation to identify root cause and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, produce and manage incident reports in designated timescale.
- Assist with the production of month end reports in a timely manner.
- Reports to HSEQ and Operations management teams at core office locations on a regular basis and attends meetings as required for and on behalf of the Group.

**Person Specification**

**Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience**
- CCDO card
- IOSH membership
- Lifting Appointed Parson qualification
- Asbestos removal
- Experience working with management systems 45001, 14001 and 9001
- Hold a Minimum qualification of NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- CSCS card or similar
- Full UK Driving License

**Skills / Competencies**
- Demolition Contractor experience
- Relevant HSQE experience in Demolition / Construction / Civil Engineering industry.
- Technical knowledge of the CDM Regulations and experience within a Contractor or Principal Contractor role.
- Temporary Works experience.
- Experience working with large mobile plant and site engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- PC Literate - with experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and use of the internet.
