This is a full time, permanent office-based position.

**Summary of role**:
The Specials Team Leader will be responsible for managing our Special Sales team, increasing sales and profitability across the Banner business through ‘Special Product Lines’ increasing our market share of these products.

The Specials Team Leader will drive a sales culture with a focus on quote to order conversions, increasing sales on ‘Special product lines’, achieving agreed response times, profitability and developing long-term business relationships.

**The responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Supporting the delivery of Banner’s sales strategy within your area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with the Heads of Customer Experience and Heads of Sales to increase sales within all sectors.
- Pro-actively manage the teams’ active quotations through CRM dashboards to ensure they are following up in a timely manner.
- Providing sales training and support to the team to ensure they are upselling, offering green options and cross selling on each quotation.
- Achieve a pre-agreed margin per category.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best business package for Banner including pricing, rebates, and payment terms.
- Understand and monitor product and supplier compliance in line with company terms and conditions and keep up to date with differences between EU and UK product certification.
- Identify product trends to appraise and improve sourcing activities.
- Investigate and where applicable resolve vendor & product specification queries.
- Manage the total performance of the team, assisting and guiding when needed to improve and develop sales skills.
- Setting and monitoring weekly and monthly objectives
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve through incentives.

**Skills, knowledge, and qualities required**:

- 2 years’ experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Proficient in accurately pricing, maximising profitability whilst protecting GP%
- Strong negotiating skills
- Understanding of the full cost of sourcing decisions (product, freight, duty, stock holding, handling, returns)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- The ability to multitask, be organised, agree priorities, and meet deadlines.
- The ability to adapt to change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of customer base, customer needs and sales cycle an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of product, competitor, and dealer network desirable
