We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of the children we support. Experience working as a children’s residential support worker or similar work with children and level 3 Diploma for residential childcare would be essential. We will also provide further training in a combination of in-house training and external training.

Rising Star Homes are currently recruiting for Residential Children’s Home Support Workers to work in our Residential Children’s Home, supporting children and young people with EBD.
- Contribute to the development of care plans and placement plans in conjunction with colleagues.
- Be able to meet children’s needs which demonstrates care for the child and acknowledges their individuality and enables them to learn how to meet their own needs in the future.
- You must be able to be prepared to support with any scenario which may occur and must be able to work through any potential challenging behaviors should they arise.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day care of our children here at the home which includes supporting with activities, education, and support with meetings pertaining to their care.
- You will work as part of a dedicated, caring team to ensure the home is kept to a good standard, allowing the children to flourish in our care and develop personal and emotional skills for growth.
- Support with cleaning and cooking around the home and support the children to be safeguarded from risk or harm.
- Work as part of a Rota which consists of days/evenings/weekends/night and sleep-in shifts.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Residential Children’s Home Support Workers will be required to hold the necessary qualification and experience for this role.
- Be able to act as a positive role model and to lead by example.
- Have good communication skills
- Be kind, caring, and consistent
- Have an understanding of the needs of children who are placed into care.
- Ability to work in partnership with the service users
- A good understanding of accountability, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Resilience to cope with challenging behavior and circumstances
- Full clean driving license is preferable

**Salary**:
Residential Children’s Home Support Worker Roles 40hr/week: £10-£12 dependent on experience

**About the Role**:
This role is for a children’s residential home, you will be part of a newly opened service supporting with meeting the standards and expectations set by the registered manager. We are looking for individuals dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children in the home. You will safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young adults and ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent. You will be expected to offer a nurturing and caring approach to children with EBD needs. You will work as part of a team supporting with daily tasks, including promoting health, education, development of life skills, and listening to the wishes and feelings of the children and young adults. You will work within the home’s boundaries and suitable routines appropriate to their age.
