**LOCATION: LEEDS**

**SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000 + BENEFITS PACKAGE**

NJR Recruitment are currently working in Partnership with a leading firm of Chartered Financial Planners based from beautiful offices in the Yorkshire area. Offering a range of tailored services that help enable clients to plan and protect both their privateand corporate financial futures. From private investment, group pensions and corporate protection, to human resources and employee benefits, our Client aims to support the financial needs and aspirations of each Client. A Research Manager is now required totake responsibility for the management and oversight of the firms Centralised Investment Proposition (CIP).

The Research Manager sits as Chair of the Investment Committee (IC) which is responsible for the management of advisory and discretionary portfolios. Working closely with external Consultants, the Research Manager actively challenges the Investment Committee,contributing to asset allocation and fund selection and portfolio construction. Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end process of the firms CIP, from monitoring key macroeconomic trends and the business cycle, to individual fund research and monitoring and account rebalancing
- Be the key point of contact for external Consultants that support the firms IC and for advisers, fielding all CIP and market relates queries
- Write and edit investment commentary for internal and external use
- Prepare all relevant client communications and reports relating to advisory and discretionary portfolios
- Continually monitor client communications to ensure
- Keep abreast of industry and market news
- Chair and contribute to the firms IC meetings, challenging asset and fund allocation in context of independent research and analysis, contributing to the portfolio construction process
- Conducting due diligence annually or on an ad hoc basis, as and when required on providers and funds and maintaining up to date company records
- Responsible for mitigating and reporting any risks which may be detrimental to the firm’s reputation which may arise from inadequate procedures, systems or data
- Comply with and implement the firm’s policies and procedures as listed within the relevant handbooks and compliance policies
- Work with the wider business to implement new technology solutions, work on ad hoc projects to enhance the advice proposition of the company.
- Minimum of Level 4 CFA Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or an equivalent level qualification that meets the requirements of FCAS activities 14 and 10 (Managing Investments)
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of investments, including regulation and industry standards
- Comfortable discussing asset allocation and portfolio construction in context of macroeconomic trends and business cycle analysis
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing conflicting priorities 5. Stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle investment and portfolio specific queries in client facing meetings
- In-depth experience and knowledge of investment platforms and the relevant switch/rebalance process
- Willingness to work independently on analytical assignments whilst handling confidential information of a sensitive nature
- Understanding of the SM&CR and MIFIDPRU regimes is advantageous
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in formal and in informal settings
- Strong IT skills with particular focus on Microsoft Excel (for data analysis)
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
