About the Role

The Lancet Regional Health - Europe is an Open Access journal, part of the Lancet's global initiative to advocate for health-care quality and access in all regions of the world. You will work with fellow Senior Editors and the Editor-in-Chief in all aspects of the organisation and preparation of the journal. You will encounter some of the best research in Europe, collaborate with a regional and global authorship base, and get to work closely with other journal editors as well as our production, marketing, communications, and administration.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contributing critically to the selection of the journal content.
- Identifying experts to act as peer reviewers on selected submissions.
- Writing editorials.
- Commissioning content to build our journal’s profile among the communities we serve and handling special project content as necessary.
- Developing and maintaining links with the regional health community to solicit high-quality research and thought leadership for the journal.
- Attending conferences and events, identifying suitable topics and authors, and keeping up-to-date with current developments in regional health.
- Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future development and enhancement of the journal.

**Requirements**:

- Have a PhD in a relevant discipline (eg, biomedical science, public health, global health) or a medical degree (MD)
- Have post-doc research experience in a relevant field or experience in the wider development community.
- Be accustomed to diversity and working globally and can connect with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate alignment with the Lancet’s values.
- Have an unfailingly can-do attitude.
- Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on time.
- Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community.
