**Could you be our Senior Commissioning Editor?**

In December 2020 we launched The Joy Club platform in the UK, helping our members to meet new people and try new things through our live online events programme, inspiring content and thriving community. This is just the beginning, with plans for international expansion and an exciting product roadmap in place.

As our Senior Commissioning Editor, you will develop and deliver The Joy Club’s Content offering, to provide maximum value to our members. The key objectives of the role are:

- To create and deliver The Joy Club’s content strategy; engaging the target demographic across multiple media formats (live online classes, on-demand video, and others).
- To use a research and data-led approach, responding to market and user needs accordingly.
- To work alongside the Head of Product to develop a truly exceptional annual programme that delivers maximum value to the membership, championing and protecting content quality at all times.
- To identify acquisition partnerships and attract new content partners relevant to our target audience.
- To manage all stakeholders effectively and negotiate in line with the budget.
- To manage direct report(s) in the team, inspiring a culture of excellence and curiosity.
- To contribute to company-wide strategy by supporting effective working and communication across teams.

**Requirements**:
**We’ll want you to be our Senior Commissioning Editor if you have**
- Owned content/programming vision, creating and delivering on a strategy and programme, whilst never losing sight of the audience and their needs.
- Analytical thinking capability. Are you logical, systematic, quick at processing and recognising patterns? Do you understand the difference between quantitative and qualitative data and in what context they should be used?
- A track record in successful stakeholder management with the ability to engage with and influence a diverse number of stakeholder groups.
- Proven success in crafting compelling content and commercial proposals utilising excellent and creative written skills.
- Have experience interacting with people in later life and/or familiarity in a startup environment.

**You’ll have been successful as our Senior Commissioning Editor, if in one year’s time you have**
- Led on all content for The Joy Club, engaged all audiences and delivered a joyful annual programme.
- Iteratively innovated to achieve: reduced customer churn, increased customer satisfaction and increased audience engagement across all media formats.
- Managed direct report(s) to ensure they are happy and high-performing, resolving issues decisively, and ensuring that objectives are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborated effectively to ensure content quality, supporting member retention and sentiment at all times.

- Salary range of £40k-£45k (depending on experience) + 10% uplift in the form of an EMI Option Agreement (i.e. additional 10% of your salary worth of options, in addition to your salary).
