We currently have a fantastic opportunity for the role of a Vehicle Preparation Operative, to work as part of the logistics team cleaning and preparing our vehicles. The main responsibility of this post holder will be carrying out deep cleans on all Ambulance Vehicles and equipment and moving of vehicles nationally as required.

**This role is 37.5 hours and is overnight working and weekends. This role will also include travelling to our bases across the country to work at our remote and satellite stations with possible overnight stays.**

The primary function of the role of a make ready operative is to ensure that central medical services’ vehicles meet the operational and clinical standards required.

It is key to ensure that the vehicles are clean, fully stocked (as appropriate) and essential equipment is in date and presented to a high standard.

The role has a key part to play in adhering to a successful make ready process especially in relation to ensuring vehicles are collected and delivered to the head office base in Linby, Nottingham and returned back to their operational location, if required according to plan and in a timely manner with the minimum amount of disruption to operations.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure that all company vehicles and equipment are cleaned thoroughly and effectively to clinical and policy standards, to the agreed schedule and in a timely manner.
- Carry out 6 weekly deep cleans on all ambulances and equipment in line with company guidelines.
- Move vehicles in between bases to ensure that every vehicle is in the right place at the right time prior to dispatch.
- Carry out basic operational checks on medical equipment to ensure they are ready for patient safety.
- To report vehicle and equipment faults in line with company policy to ensure patient safety.
- Record Keeping.
- Check that the medical equipment is within service date and re-stock vehicles with supplies and medical equipment as appropriate and when necessary, as part of the make ready process.
- Monitor stock usage and re-order as necessary utilising and documenting this.
- Ensure the safe transit and security of all items that are transported including but not limited to stores, drugs, mobile phones and IT equipment.
- Be proactive in identifying and providing solutions to issues encountered within the role and assist the department with continuously monitoring and improving it’s service level standard.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment and supplies.
- Follows company procedures regarding Health and safety and emergencies.
- Carry out any other duties as directed to you by the senior management as part of your duties.
- Promote an open and honest environment, safeguarding and office safety.

**Qualifications**

To be shortlisted for this position, the following qualifications will apply:
- **Essential criteria**
- Current UK Driving Licence full manual driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
- Minimum of 3 GCSE's ( or equivalent) at grade C to include English and Maths and ICT.
- C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office such as Excel.
- Excellent use of Information Technology.

**Desirable criteria**

Knowledge of working in a healthcare environment is preferred but full training will be provided.
