The role of the Facilities Training Officer is to deliver ‘prescribed’ mandatory training as well as pre-determined essential training and local induction to all facilities staff across the directorate, identifying appropriate delivery methods of training to support individuals in a group or on a one to one basis. They will provide crucial support to those staff who may have barriers to learning and who may find completion of E-learning packages challenging and demanding. Ensuring that both mandatory and role specific training is delivered contributes to effective and safe delivery of facilities services.
- Recent, relevant experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience of teaching / on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting
- Demonstrable evidence of facilitating training/teaching staff including people with barriers to learning
- Experience in the role of being a Key Trainer
- Ability to deliver training presentations to inform and influence staff in best practice
- Ability to engage and motivate people
- Experience of working under pressure to deadlines and prioritizing workload, Evidence of working to deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written command of English.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team, Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all Facilities areas
- Ability to provide information, advice and guidance on career development
- To deliver pre-prepared training packages to Facilities/ Non-Clinical staff which ensure that they meet mandatory and essential training requirements of the role.
- Support Facilities teams by providing local induction to all new starters
- Have a full understanding of all training packages that are to be delivered, so that these can be delivered effectively and all relevant questions answered.
- Develop innovative ways to deliver training to support staff who have barriers to learning and identify solutions for delivering training in both a classroom setting and ‘on the job’
- Prepare resources and communications based on prescribed training that is appropriate to the audience using a range of methods (including word and powerpoint), whilst accommodating any barriers to understanding.
- To ensure the learning environment is appropriate for all learners and adapt training when necessary.
- To ensure the training environment is effectively equipped and set up for learning.
- To maintain stock levels, order stock, and be responsible for setting up and packing away of resources and equipment. Ensure the safe use of equipment.
- Undertake observation and competency assessment to ensure training and key skills embedded including working alongside staff in the hospital environment.
- To monitor training compliance for all staff and build a plan for delivery of training to ensure all staff trained appropriately in order to undertake their role and the team meet its training targets
