We have an exciting new opportunity and are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join the team in our Works and Estates department on a part time, permanent basis, 20 hours per week.

**About the role**:
The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that Wellington College Group meets all necessary legislative obligations and driving the continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Fire Management at the College

This post will be responsible for delivering health and safety advice and leading on specific topic areas such as DSE, Manual Handling and First Aid and to give advice and support to staff and managers when required.

The successful incumbent will assist the HSE Manager to update safety procedures, developing risk assessment tools, carrying out audits and delivering training.

**Key responsibilities (Please see JD for full requirements)**:

- Assist the HSE Manager in delivering an annual improvement plan aligned with the H&S Strategy, which includes planning, delivering, and updating safety procedures, developing risk assessment tools, carrying out audits and delivering training.
- Assist the HSE Manager to ensure that H&S policies are adhered to, putting in place control measures to audit, monitor and review health, safety, and fire management practices for legislative compliance and best practice with the aim of developing and maintaining a positive H&S culture for all College community members.
- Assisting managers to carry out specific risk assessments for staff such as DSE, pregnant workers, lone working, and manual handling and ensure that the central register of risk assessments is maintained and regularly reviewed.
- Assist with the development and delivery of H&S training to meet the needs of departments and the standards imposed by legislation or HSE guidance, using/maintaining any College systems and maintaining training records.
