An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the post of Deputy Head of Healthcare at HMP Whitemoor.
Whitemoor is a Category A male prison situated near the beautiful market town of March in Cambridgeshire.
The post holder will support and deputise for the Head of Healthcare, will oversee the healthcare team, provide advice and support to existing services and ensure that they are strengthened and modernised in line with NHS Standards for Better Health Care.
The post holder will support the development of effective clinical strategies and leadership arrangements across the health care workforce and ensure that health care staffs continue to deliver high quality care through appropriate and effective recruitment, appraisal, performance, and professional development procedures.
The post holder will understand and adopt the principles of trauma informed care, advocating for safety, choice, trust and transparency, empowerment and collaboration for service users, colleagues, and self.
The post holder will recognise that patients in secured care will have experienced adversity and other difficult life events which may affect their engagement with health services. The principles of trauma informed care will enable compassion when working with residents to create positive health outcomes and improved wellbeing
The post holder will ensure that the key national and local health strategies are adhered to within HMP Whitemoor including the Public Health White Paper “Choosing Health” and the NHS National Service Frameworks.
Partnership working is essential to the success of health provision within the prison and the post holder will maintain and work towards further developing successful partnerships with both statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
The post holder will have in depth knowledge and experience of clinical governance
The post holder will have experience of delivering supervisions and appraisals to senior staff
**Other duties include but are not limited to**:
- Participating in the tendering for new business opportunities
- As a member of the Senior Management team, contribute to the establishment of new services that meet National and local requirements
- Ensure staffing levels and skill mix fully and effectively meet the needs of the service, within financial
- Ensure NHFT delivered services enable the resident to have a seamless care pathway
- Chair/Support panels (disciplinary, grievances etc.) within the service area and elsewhere in NHFT as
- Ensure complaints are investigated thoroughly in liaison with residents /careers and embed learning within the service
