Arborist

**What we’re looking for**:

- NPTC units in the range of 30 to 39 as a minimum
- Demonstrable experience working in arboricultural service
- Specialist technical knowledge of arboricultural practices
- Knowledge of current arboricultural practices, management and maintenance techniques including legislation and guidelines.
- Proven ability to work in all weathers in an outdoor environment

**A bit about the role**:
As an Arborist, you will provide tree services for the 30,000 trees on Thamesmead in a safe manner, to provide a customer oriented, high quality, responsive to the needs of the Group including external clients and in line with service standards.

Some of the key results for the role include:

- Carrying out tree pruning operations, including but not limited to, - lifting, thinning, crown reduction, pollarding at heights in excess of 20 meters.
- Tree felling and stump removal
- Safely using a wide variety of equipment and hand tools including but not limited to saws /pole saws/ hand tools / harness and ropes of all types. To carry out regular maintenance of all equipment and carry out minor repairs as required.
- Maintaining knowledge of arboricultural practices, legislation, relevant legislation and codes of practice, and industry guidance.
- Ensuring prompt and accurate completion of all forms and records required for the duties of the post. To provide works data for Confirm environmental

This role will require a driving licence.
