**Bookkeeper - Part time**

Brocton Hall Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole parkland golf course on the edge of Cannock Chase in Brocton, Stafford, and we are looking for sub-contracted professional bookkeeping services (15 hours per week).

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy of the processing of all financial transactions at the club. Responsible for the maintenance of appropriate financial control and ensuring authorisation of expenditure by the directors.
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Preparation of regular financial statements for review by the Club’s Treasure and submission to the Committee.
- Preparation of annual budgets and updating forecasts for review by the Club’s Treasurer.
- Preparation of supporting schedules in support of the annual audit.
- Liaison with external parties - bank, auditors, HMRS etc

**Services to include but not limited to**:

- Reconciliation of daily takings
- Ensuring authorisation and processing of accounts payable and receivable
- Completing tax forms, VAT, PAYE, and pension submissions
- Ensuring completion of all cash and control account reconciliations at least monthly.
- Preparing monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Ensuring regular bills for the Club are authorised prior to payment.
- Maintaining Club ledgers.
- Monitoring cash levels and assisting Treasurer with forecasting.
- Preparing an annual Club budget in conjunction with the Treasurer to support the Club’s strategic plans.
- Providing oversight and assistance to the full-time office staff for bookkeeping issues.
- Ad hoc reporting from Intelligent Golf as required by Sub-committee Chairs.
- Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by the Treasurer.

It is anticipated that these services will require a time commitment averaging out at 15 hours per week. For the avoidance of doubt, this role is for sub-contracted bookkeeping services and the bookkeeper is responsible for his/her own taxation and national insurance on a self-employed basis.

**Required qualifications and skills**:

- Appropriate qualification in Business Administration or Accounting.
- Extensive relevant work experience.
- Excellent knowledge of general accounting.
- Knowledge of Xero accounting software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Efficient in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Strong numerical and data analysis skills with good business acumen.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
