**Duties**:

- Provides leadership for standards-based instruction and assessment of all educational programs.
- Aligns fiscal, human, and material resources to support student learning and achievement.
- Provides professional development opportunities that both enhance teacher growth and advance the school improvement goals.
- Plans, directs, and evaluates all extracurricular activities.
- Ensures ongoing communication with the school community regarding academic progress and goals.
- Establishes DoDEA educator performance elements and evaluates teacher work.
- Models professional and ethical standards, and personal integrity in interactions.
- Receives and attempts to resolve complaints and grievances.
- Interviews applicants and makes final selections.
- Promotes community awareness of school programs.
- Promotes partnerships that bring resources to support the school implementation plan, especially those that enhance student academic achievement.
- Initiates communication between school administration, students, teachers, parents, the local community, and base offices that provide services to the school and/or staff.
- Serves as the responsible officer for all government
- owned or leased property assigned to the school.
- Presents and justifies request for funds, transportation, supplies, equipment and facilities.
- Directs timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of pupil records, office files, schedules, statistical and other reports, registers, work orders, expenditure of funds.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Two-year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Two-year supervisory probation period may be required.
- This position requires a Tier 3 (T3) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
- You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoDDS or DDESS location.
- Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.
- Individuals assigned to Italy, England, or Korea, are required to obtain a visa to enter these countries.
- A secret security clearance is required.

**Qualifications**:**Minimum Education Requirements for a Principal**:
A Master's, EDS or Doctorate's degree in Education Administration or a Master's degree inclusive of 45 semester hours of graduate credit with a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit in school administration, curriculum development, and supervision of instruction (or similar supervision related course work). Applicants must provide copies of official Bachelor's and Master's transcripts (include EDS and Doctorate's if applicable).
- In addition to the requirements listed above, you must also meet the requirements listed below:
**General Experience Requirements for a Principal**:A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching, specialist, or other professional educatorexperience at the Pre-K -12 level is required.**Specialized Experience Requirements for a Principal**:A minimum of two years appropriate experience (elementary and/or secondary) in a staff or supervisory position which clearly demonstrated the ability to administer school educational programs and to effectively supervise educators and support personnel. No more than one year of experience in positions that did not involve actual school administration will be credited as specialized experience.
- **Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement**: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards as a Principal, Elementary (category 1021).
