The role of the Women’s Worker is to support women who are experiencing domestic abuse. GEWA is seeking an individual with a working knowledge of domestic abuse to support this vulnerable group of service users.

1. To provide a holistic, needs-led support service to women experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse, including resolving issues of emotional trauma, stress and loss

2. To provide therapeutic and structured support in a one to one or group work setting, assessed being appropriate to the needs of the individual women

3. Design and implement care plans according to the needs of each woman

4. Design and implement safety planning with women

5. Provide outreach support and activities, in addition to office based provision

6. Achieve all contractual targets and outcomes

7. Deliver awareness raising sessions to local groups and service providers in contact with women and children in need of support

8. Partnership working with statutory and voluntary agencies and active involvement in child protection plans and other formal proceedings

9. To keep up to date with relevant legislation and attend training as and when required

10. To ensure the service is advertised within the local community and referral agencies

11. Collate statistics and produce reports as required

12. Ensure all systems and paperwork are up to date at all times

13. To be responsible for contractual expenditure in conjunction with the Senior Finance Worker

14. To promote the rights of service users, provide advocacy and representation in local, statutory and legal settings where required

15. To adhere to all GEWA policies and procedures, including Safeguarding

16. Participation in reception cover for crisis drop in and team meetings

17. Any other duties as reasonably required by the funder and / or GEWA effective evaluation and monitoring framework in line with funding requirements

- Feminist outlook
- Experience working with children and families is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of community resources and support services
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with clients

**Pay & Conditions**

Salary £27,410 + 7.5%

35 hours per week

30 days paid holiday plus public holidays.

You may be required to work evenings and weekends. There will be a 26 week probationary period during which the worker will be provided with ongoing support.
