**Information for the role of House Porter (Conference Support)**

Salary £23,921 per annum for 40/hours per week (over 7 days)

An excellent opportunity to join a prestigious organisation in a varied and fulfilling role in a small friendly team. Your day-to-day duties will include:

- The lifting, moving and storing of furniture, equipment and other items (manual handling training will be provided)
- Conference set up and support
- Cleaning of designated areas of the College (both internal and external); the collection and return of recycling bins and laundry duties

To be considered for this interesting role, you will need to have:

- A full UK-valid driving licence (with a maximum of 3 points) or to have obtained such a licence within 6 months of joining the College
- The ability to move and lift heavy items, and use ladders, in line with Risk Assessments and after training
- Knowledge of, or able to learn, cleaning routine and techniques
- Clear communication skills, with a good command of the English language

Founded in 1800, Downing College in the University of Cambridge has a unique and magnificent setting among twenty acres of lawns and trees, yet is located in the centre of Cambridge. **Details of the role**
The post of House Porter (Conference Support) is a permanent full time role.

Hours of work are 40 hours/week worked over 7 days, with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.** Core hours are from 0800-1600**, with some out of hours and weekend work so flexibility is required. The annual salary is £23,921 per annum for 40 hours per week (Step 22 on the College Salary Scale). In addition to the salary, we offer an attractive benefits package including:
