Would you like to join an enthusiastic, supportive, and friendly Management Team? Diabetic Eye Screening Wales Headquarters in Treforest are looking to recruit a Clinical Services Co-Ordinator to support our team. This is a new, permanent, full time (37.5hrs a week) position.

If you like organising this could be the job for you? Coordinating, scheduling and planning the DESW community-based clinics across Wales, rostering our staff and providing administrative support to the management team, you will need to be proficient with computers and Microsoft packages.

A supportive and comprehensive training procedure for scheduling and will ensure that DESW quality standards are maintained through the completion of agreed Quality Assurance Tasks associated with clinic scheduling and delivery.

Diabetic Eye Screening Wales works as part of the Health Protection and Screening Division in Public Health Wales, the successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team driven by the PHW organisational values and working together to achieve a healthier future for Wales.

Our work is to Screen the population of Wales from the age of 12 who are diagnosed with Diabetes for the early detection of Diabetes related eye disease (diabetic retinopathy) either annually or biannually.

You will need to communicate orally and in writing with a wide range of internal and external staff and external organisations on behalf of the DESW Management Team. Examples are, liaising with our partner venues to discuss availability of clinic spaces and the requirement of our screening teams, discussing planning issues and rostering with our Duty Lead Nurses and Programme Manager - Operational.

Working closely with our Senior Screening Teams across Wales to develop, plan and review our clinical services, as part of the on-going DESW Transformation Programme as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an All Wales Screening service, gaining experience of service re-design and implementation whilst providing a critical task to support the success of our clinical services.

Coordinating the weekly meetings for review and approval of clinic templates and rotas under the direction of the Programme Manager, taking action notes and disseminating these in a timely fashion.

Follow up on actions, creating and maintaining an actions log spreadsheet for supported meetings.

To support the identification of suitable screening delivery venues across Wales and maintain agreed standards for delivery through monitoring of venue suitability.

Work closely with the Screening Pathway Co-ordinator to ensure that additional screening capacity can be provided to accommodate surges in demand and/or the achievement of service timeliness standards.

Liaise with venue providers, including Local Health Boards, to ensure the provision of relevant facilities and allocation of premises required by DESW.

Participating in and completing audit under the direction of the DESW Management team and assist in the communication of the results.

Collation of data for failsafe, audit and quality improvement projects, contributing to the recommendations for change identified to support improvements in clinical practice.

Deal with telephone enquiries from other NHS organisations and senior managers and staff within Public Health Wales as appropriate. Examples will include liaison with regard to screening venues, training events and training coordination as well as gathering information on behalf of managers from external agencies.

To communicate orally and in writing with a wide range of internal and external staff and external organisations on behalf of the DESW Management Team. Examples will include drafting correspondence for managers to send to external and internal stakeholders.

As required be involved with project work or task and finish groups.

When required provide cover during absences for other members of the Management Team Assistant team and the reception team at Fairway Court.
