Resilience and Emergency Preparedness Advisor

An exciting job opportunity for an individual who is looking for a varied and challenging role. As a member of the Emergency Preparedness team for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service the post holder will be expected to work within Fire & Rescue Service and multi-agency environments to lead, manage and promote the services Civil Protection and Business Continuity arrangements. This includes planning, co-ordination and facilitating multi-agency exercises with Partner Agencies to test and validate plans. Experience is preferred however full training will be given.
Resilience and Emergency Preparedness Advisor roles and responsibilities include:
- Detailed knowledge of the requirements of the Fire & Rescue Services Act 2004 and Fire and Rescue Service National Framework Documents.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of principle legislation concerning the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, COMAH regulations and other off site emergency planning arrangements.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the Humber Local resilience forum structure including the role and responsibilities of the participant organisations.
- Good communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate with people at all levels to enable the effective performance of main tasks.
- A flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Good interpersonal skills when interacting within multi-agency and Fire service environments.
- IT literate including the use of MS Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Resilience direct.
