**Delivery Driver/Pensioner Minibus Driver**

Bentilee Volunteers, 19 Brackenfield Avenue, Bentilee

11 hours / 2 Days per week / 7:30am - 12:30pm (delivery/collection driver) 9:30am - 3:30pm ( Minibus Driver)

Monday & Tuesday or Thursday

£11.44 per hour

DELIVERY/COLLECTION DRIVER

To collect, deliver and install a wide range of household furniture items, white goods, and donations in a timely, effective and professional manner.

Safely load and unload items on and off the delivery van and into either the salesroom or customers’ homes

Must hold a full driving licence

To always be courteous and professional with customers and donators

Take and record cash payments, as well as other necessary paperwork and records

To work closely with the Manager, Sales Administrator and other office staff

To ensure the salesroom if kept clean, tidy and all items for sale are well presented

Ensure that the delivery van is always in good working mechanical order, as well as keeping necessary vehicle logs and recording mileage

Ensure that health and safety and correct manual handling rules and regulations are adhered to at all times

Ensure driving is done in a respectful and considerate way

Arrange and adhere to specific time slots with customers

Able to use discernment and sound judgement when selecting and choosing which donated items and goods to collect

Install goods and furniture safely into customers’ homes

Attend supervision sessions with line manager and undergo training as required

Must be physically fit and active, and be skilled and comfortable in lifting and moving heavy and bulky items of furniture

A flexible approach to work is essential

Works well under pressure and to time-scales

Ability to work with a range of people from a variety of backgrounds with various needs and abilities

Responsive to issues and demonstrates a practical and positive approach to any problems that might arise during the day.

Previous experience of manually handling and lifting heavy/bulky items is essential

Previous experience of driving a van would be advantageous

MINIBUS DRIVER

To collect and drop off members of our Seniors Lunch Club.

To perform any other duties as appropriate for this role ie. kitchen help/setting up and clearing tables and chairs etc.

Occasionally take residents on local trips.

To maintain records of addresses and most economical route options.

Where necessary assist members on and off the vehicle, and to and from their front door.

Keep a record of the mileage used each day and be responsible for the day to day running of the minibus, including fuel level and maintenance checks.

Keep the minibus tidy and accessible.

To report any concerns or issues to the Lunch Club Co-ordinator or other relevant staff member.

To take care of your own health and safety at work and of your clients. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards.

To undertake any relevant training.

To perform any other duties as appropriate for this role ie. kitchen help/setting up and clearing tables and chairs etc.

A full clean driving licence must be held.

Good knowledge of local area desirable.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 11 per week
