**Overview of Role**

The **Senior Project Buyer** oversees and executes capital expenditure (Capex) procurement activities. This role includes developing and implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of equipment, materials, and services for capital projects. The **Senior Project Buyer** works closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

**Key Responsibilities**

Procurement Strategy Development**: Develop and implement effective Capex procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational goals.
- ** Supplier Management**: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- ** Project Coordination**: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines. Ensure procurement activities are aligned with project schedules.
- ** Contract Negotiation**: Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms for the organization while minimizing risks.
- ** Performance Tracking**: Track and report on procurement performance metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery timelines.
- ** Cost Management**: Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure adherence to project budgets. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- ** Compliance**: Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- ** Risk Management**: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
- ** Continuous Improvement**: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM) would be preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 3 years in Capex project procurement.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Capability to analyse and interpret technical specifications and project requirements.
