Our Dumfries Depot operates a fleet of over 30 vehicles and is currently recruiting for a skilled Shift Mechanic. We are looking for someone who is friendly, flexible, reliable and takes pride in their work. You should be able to work on your own initiative and enjoy being part of a friendly and dedicated team. As a Shift Mechanic you will work a variety of shifts, on a 5 out of 7 days basis, and your role will include maintaining and repairing the Company’s vehicles to the strict standards set by both Stagecoach and DVSA.

Main responsibilities will include:

- Preventative maintenance inspection
- Routine diagnostic and repairs of all vehicle systems including engine, after treatment, gearbox, suspension and braking systems
- Reporting of vehicle component defects or symptoms that are likely to affect the reliability and safety of the fleet. Don’t worry if you aren’t trained in the most up to date equipment, we can provide you with all the necessary training to support you in your day to day tasks

We would ideally like someone who is a qualified PCV/HGV mechanic, with a NVQ level 3 in HGV - PCV or City & Guilds; light goods engineers will also be considered. A full UK Driving licence is preferred but not essential. Training for a PCV license is available after a qualifying period.
