**Sessional: Independent Assessor for Policing**:
**Job description**
- This is an exciting opportunity to join the Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) Police Education Qualification Framework (PEQF) contracts team as a sessional Independent Assessor (IA).
- Successful applicants will work in partnership to support the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships (PCDA) End Point Assessment (EPA) of Police Apprentices across Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex Constabularies.
- The role holder will operate collaboratively within a wider team of Police Education Consortium (PEC) IAs to deliver a high-quality and consistently delivered EPA provision.**The Role**

The role of the IA during the EPA is to conduct an impartial assessment of whether the Police Apprentices have developed the skills, knowledge, and behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the apprenticeship standard:

- Conduct and assess the professional discussion following a review of the occupational competence portfolio (OCP) - EPA 1
- Assess the professional policing practice project - EPA 2
- Assess the professional policing practice presentation and conduct Q&A based on the Professional Policing Practice Project - EPA 2

- Canterbury Christ Church University has over 25 years of experience in leading the way in providing innovative courses to support students seeking a career in policing, criminal justice and related fields. Our School has invested significantly in a Hydra suite that will allow our students learn via simulated decision-making scenarios under ‘close-to-real’ conditions. We also offer bespoke facilities such as a custody suite and interview rooms, to provide opportunities for experiential learning where possible.
- The Policing team has an excellent balance of academic expertise and professional experience, is actively involved in research and debates e.g. via Canterbury Centre for Policing Research, and are key part of the the author team behind Blackstone's Handbook in Policing. The department has strong links with a wide range of community and voluntary agencies, as well as a number of police services and stakeholders both locally and further afield, including Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and the Metropolitan Police, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, and the Police Service of The Netherlands.
