**Role Overview**:
As a Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young people on their journey towards education and/ oremployment. You will provide personalised guidance, training, and encouragement to improve their skills, secure sustainable employment, and help them achieve their educational and/or employment goals.

**Responsibilities - Mentor**:
**Assessment and Planning**: Meet with young people to understand their needs and challenges, creating personalised plans to help them achieve their education and employment goals. Conduct regular sessions and reviews to boost their confidence and motivation.

**Employment Support**: Assist young people in getting ready for education or work, offering advice, skill-building activities, and insights into employment or educational requirements.

**Feedback and Support**: Offer constructive feedback and ongoing encouragement to help young people improve their skills and gain confidence in their ability to enter education and/ or employment.

**Goal Achievement**: Stay focused on targets and deadlines. This will ensure young people are supported effectively and in line with the programme requirements and expectations.

**Partnership Development**: Collaborate with job centres, local authorities, and community groups to expand support networks and access more resources for young people.

- Ambitious and Innovative: Always seeking new ways to support young people's personal and professional growth and development;
- Target Driven: Confident in meeting programme targets, focused on advancing young people's progress into employment and/ or education.
- Empathy and Compassion: Understanding and caring towards young people whilst supporting their journey to education and/or employment.
- Action Planning: Experienced in creating practical plans and assessing individual needs to guide young people effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in computer use and MS Office for accurately tracking young people's progress.
- Proven track record in supporting individuals through education and employment challenges, with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in facilitating employment placements, conducting needs assessments, and providing tailored support to diverse populations.
- Experience in partnership building with job centres, local authorities, and community associations is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications or training in mentoring, career counselling, or related areas are advantageous.
