If so, the the Intensive Support Team is the place for you. We specialise in supporting individuals at a difficult time in their lives, when this is shown through behaviours that challenge.

We support adults and children with a learning disability, who present with distressed behaviour that is described as complex and challenging.

NB: Access to a car or alternative travel for business use is essential as this role involves client visits all over Oxfordshire.

You will have the opportunity to observe and work with clients in a variety of settings, such as in their homes, day services, in the community, and in schools.

However, a big part of your role would also be supporting with data collection, analysing information, collating information and developing evidence in a way that will directly influence the support a person receives.

This job role is highly rewarding in every sense and provides the opportunity to build skills and knowledge in PBS. You will get to work with a range of professionals, such as Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Behaviour Specialists within the team, as well as a range of professions from different settings, such as Consultant Psychiatrists, Teachers, Social Workers, and Support Workers.

The Intensive Support Team supports hybrid working from the home and the office, with the team meeting once a week in the office at a minimum.

To assist in the implementation and evaluation of positive behavioural interventions, utilising a range of resources in order to achieve positive outcomes.

To be responsible for building a rapport with service users, which will entail working with them in community settings (e.g., the person’s home, day service, work environment, hospital).

To provide regular and practical support to service users and their carers in developing and managing independence and maintaining dignity and self-respect, under the direction of senior team members. This may include support with tasks for daily living and home management. e.g., cooking, personal care.

To monitor clients’ progress, taking account of their environment and through supervision adjust own clinical interventions accordingly

To develop skills and awareness in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support to compliment interventions and the work of the Intensive Support Team.

To attend all clinical team meetings and representing the Intensive Support Team at other meetings/activities.

**Maintain clear communication systems, eg**: clients’ notes, letters to clients, other professionals and their GP so that risk is managed effectively.
