Moj / Oicp - Limitation Claims Handler / File

We are looking to attract an MOJ / OICP Limitation file handler to join our team in Horwich, Bolton. The handler will be responsible for managing a caseload of MOJ / OICP cases that have reached limitation and subsequently issued and stayed. The handlerwill manage a case-load of files dealing with the procedural aspects of the case whilst ensuring the case is proactively managed to ensure all evidence is disclosed at the earliest point possible, in line with client requirements
This is a great opportunity for someone who has managed a caseload of pre-litigation motor files wishing to move in to litigation or a fee earner assistant wishing to step up in to file handling.
**Tasks to be completed by the Handler**:
**Effective management of Stage 2 to include**: Accurate reserve management, identifying cases with a value >£25k, identifying large loss triggers, valuing general and special damages, accurate strategy setting and negotiation, managing Stage2 through to CPP stage, dealing with Stage 2 costs, processing settlements within the client environment.
**Case management systems and IT**: Maintain all reserves and diary actions, all critical dates are achieved, IT literate: proficient in use of Microsoft Office packages (Excel and Word)
All new starters will be provided with training in role and will be supervised by the team leader to support you with your transition in to the role.
This role will be based in our Parklands, Bolton Office and will be a hybrid-working role. So will be working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.
**Prior knowledge, skills and experience**:
- Good knowledge and understanding of the MOJ Civil Procedure Rules and associated time scales.
- Experience of valuing general and special damages utilising a variety of tools including JC Guidelines and case law.
- Prior dealing in quantum negotiations.
- Prior experience of drafting documents.
- Working to set deadlines.
- Dealing with and managing Claimant Solicitors, policyholders, clients and the Court.
- Managing a caseload.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to take constructive feedback and set personal goals for continuous improvement.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
- Efficient in a process driven environment
- Confident with ability to take initiative to innovate and adapt to changing situations
